Momma Dee Apologizes To Sukihana, Speaks of Scrappy & Bambi, & LHHATL

Deborah Bryant, better known as Momma Dee, who is an actress, singer and reality television personality, best known for her appearances in the VH1 hit reality show Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta has sat down to speak of her son and rapper Scrappy and Bambi. She has also spoke of the reality show itself and has extended an apology to fellow cast mate and rap artist, Sukihana.

Sitting down with us, she goes in depth of her time on the reality tv show.

“It’s been off the roof like, to lands unknown. It’s been good, it’s been fruitful, but it has been wearing and tearing on my physical and mental. So I guess to everything, they’re good and bad. It’s like an even trade.” she explains.

When on the topic of people understanding her and who she is she discloses of her true nature and that she is a “God-fearing person.”

“What they don’t understand about me is I’m God-fearing, I’m very giving and very loving person. I love my family, I mean my whole my family I cant even count right now but I love them all; you defend them to death and I understand that life’s heavy chains, they’re very strong.”

She also clears the air of the image that she is portrayed on TV and shares with viewers who she would like for everyone to see as her true self instead.

“Love & Hip Hop portrays me as this over-bearing mother that is always in Scrappy’s business; however, I’m not overbearing, I don’t even know where my son is right now. So at the end of the day when Scrappy brings me to things I’m going to listen that is my child. What mother doesn’t listen to their child.” she shares.

She also revealed that in 1996 she had gotten into a head-on collision where she had dealt with injuries from the accident that left her unable to walk for three years that led her transitioning to a wheelchair, walker, crutches and cane and showing how different in comparison her right and left ankles are.

“I go through issues every freaking day and it’s going to go down for the rest of my life.”

Speaking of Scrappy and his relationships, she shares that within the show, she doesn’t have an issue with who Scrappy dates unless their is an issue that comes up.

“I don’t [have an issue] until they mess with my child,” she says. ” An older white woman told me when I was 27 something that stuck with me she said and I quote ‘If you ever want to find out how someone feels about you mess with their children.’ ain’t no explanation behind it.”

She went on to say how she really felt about Scrappy’s ex wife Bambi, expressing, “This woman is a fraud and you can’t sue me to change things on a birth certificate. Scrappy before we knew it, found out that this heffa is 43 years old. Yeah 43. Old. She’s not my equal but she’s shortly behind me in the race.”

In regards to her beef with artist Sukihana, she shared what the root of the beef was and extended an apology as she says she wasn’t happy with the way things were edited out to make her out to be in a bad light.

“Me being stupid,” she began to explain. “Someone asked me a question and I was pre [judgemental] of her. I judged of heart and it all came to blow up in Miami. She interview with my cousin Yung Joc and when I talked to him and I looked at excerpts from the interview I was sad to see her crying and see what people don’t get is that Momma Dee ain’t really like that. Now I can be but to know that I was asked a question and then they cut that but then they got me saying this and I don’t like when I’m edited [out]. If you’re gonna show me, show everything I say; don’t do that because then you put me on attack mode and when I attack, I attack.”

Going further she says she tried to explain to Sukihana of the situation but she couldn’t get to her.

“I tried to explain it and calm it down but she wasn’t hearing it, but you know if I had to speak to her and have a second chance to tell Sukihana I would tell her I’m so sorry. If I had been allowed to apologize, it wouldn’t have gotten so crazy. So I’m just looking for a better space for me and Suki. I’m old enough to be her mom and I’m very sorry. I feel so ashamed and I feel so bad. “

She shared her final thought of the situation saying, “I just want everyone to know that what they’re gonna see on TV, don’t judge her and don’t judge me. We acted out prematurely on each other and I’m sorry because she’s somebody daughter too.”
