Within Britney Spears’ upcoming memoir, the pop star shared and detailed events that happened in her earlier life and spoke specifically of her and pop star Justin Timberlake’s relationship. The two had dated from 1999 until 2002.
In The Woman in Me, she reveals she had gotten pregnant with their child, but Justin wasn’t ready for a child during the time and she had gotten an abortion.
“It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy. I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated, but Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young.” she wrote.
She continues, “If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father. To this day, it’s one of the most agonizing things I have ever experienced in my life.”
Spears went on to have two sons 18-year-old Sean Preston and 17-year-old Jayden James, with ex-husband Kevin Federline. As of now Justin Timberlake has yet to address the news.
The Woman in Me is set to release October 24.
