Russell Wilson and and the Broncos seem to have some brewing issues between them as Russell Wilson has spoken out after reports were released of his benching. Wilson spoke to media where he says that Broncos benched him as they demanded for him to change his contract.
The contract in place is worth $37 million that guarantees Wilson the amount effectively immediately on the 5th day in the 2024 league year including if he had gotten injured. His overall 5-year contract negotiated was $242 million.
“They definitely told me I was going to be benched and all that. That whole bye week I didn’t know what was going to be the case. I was going to be ready to play, I wanted to go to Buffalo and beat Buffalo. … I wasn’t going to remove the injury guarantee, this game is such a physical game, I’ve played 12 years and all that.” Wilson said Friday.
He continued, “I came here to play here, to win. I knew it was going to be a process. I signed a seven-year deal. I want to be here, I want to play here, I want to win championships here.”
